What Microsoft may announce st BUILD, its new developer conference. Mostly guesses for now, but odds point to Windows 8, Internet Explorer 10, and support for mobile processors.

Linux turns 20 this year
It’s hard to believe but Linux turns 20 this year.
Back in August 25, 1991, University of Helsinki student Linus Torvalds sent out his famous message:
I’m doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won’t be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones.
From that simple introduction, we now have an operating system that is in use throughout the world today. It runs on desktops, servers, supercomputers, and mobile phones. And best of all, it’s (still) free.
Linux: you’ve come a long way, baby.
